We are setting up a dual site Netbackup Solution.
We want to have a Netbackup server in both sites and have DeDuplication occuring and replicating between the sites.
I have currently got it set with the Master Server on one site and a Media Server on another site, but I am beginning to think this is not the best soluton. We want to have it in such a way that if the Master Server site was to go down we would still have the other site available to do restores and continue doing backups. From reading the HA Document this would not work as the Media server cannot work without the Master server. So my thought is to have TWO master servers and replicate the catalogs between both sites (Which I may need a little help and guidance on) and also have the DeDupe Backups that are done on one site replicated over to the other. At the moment they are done using Storage Lifecycle Policies.
Is it possible to have this scenario ? How would I get two Master servers to talk to each other in that way ? and see each other's Disk Pools for the SLP to work ? or is there another way it needs to be done.
