We are using Backup Exec 2012. And using single Tape drive for backup
Is it possible to automate the tape inventory process in the event the tape is inserted?
Reason for asking this is we are experiencing issues in hte backup job. Also, we have to achieve workable semi-automation.
Issue encountered:
1. When we insert the tape manually i must initiate the inventory job myself since this is just single LTO-4/LTO-5 drive.
2. When we insert tape and forgot to inventory. The schedule backup job will not go through.
We are operating Tape Backup round the clock, and has some operators on replacing Tapes that are not preferably allowed to access/administer Backup Exec server. That we need to find way to automate tape drive inventory after the tape is inserted.
