Import an Active Directory backup

I need a solution

Hi,

Perhaps my problem will be quick to solve for you, as I think it's a comprehension matter.

FACTS : I have a Backup Exec 2012 server on a physical server (Win2008 R2), and I'm running tests to make a non-authoritative backup of an Active Directory (the system state and system drive C) on a remote computer.

Because I don't want the remote computer to mess with others computer, it's on a different subnet and it communicates only with my Backup Server.

RESTORATION : I've selected this kind of restoration : "Complete the online restore or restore a computer system components" and then "Active Directory, ADAM/AD LDS and/or system state", and as a target, the C drive of the remote server. It's worked like a charm.

Now I've got a nice tree folders (Active Directory, Registry, ...) on the C drive, but I sincerly don't know what to do with this.

I've already tryed to use ntdsutil.exe to import it, or to reboot <F8> in Active Directory Restoration Mode ...

According to Symantec tutorial (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH86323), to perform a non-authoritative remote backup of an AD, we just have to reboot the server, and it's finished (step 11). But as I followed the tutorial step by step until the number 11, I just couldn't get this to work.

if anyone have an idea how to deal with this, I woud greatly appreciate his help,
Thank you very much for your support :)

Regards,

Alexander.
