Media Server Reboot

I need a solution

Hi ,

Our environment has media servers 6.5.6 , cluster  master 7.0.1 , both linux redhat.

We found one of our media server has a ECC:error which  requires a driver installation and our sysadmins are working on this update.

I was told there is good chance of this media server may have to be rebooted , and as a Netbackup admin what precautions should i take on this mediaserver to have netbackup function properly after reboot

I did a research and found netbackup daemons & services has to be stopped before reboot , is this a safe practice , if yes what are the commands to do so.

also i wanted to check how i can maintain a consistency of media server connectivity with tape library after reboot

currently our media server is connected to an  SL 500 and a Quantum VTL (dedup appliance).

What would be a best approach for me to get through this reboot with respect to netbackup and please provide if there is document for this kind of situations.

Please reach me out if any additional info is required from my side or if i am missing any thing.

Thanks,

Rajesh
