I have just completed a full backup to tape that was run on demand and completed successfully. There is an associated Incremental backup to tape, that has a scheduled start time, if I attempt to run this backup on demand, nothing happens (except the start time changes to the time of the demand.)
Its Job Status is "Ready; Storage has not been configured for the Backup Exec server". However, the storage is configured, its backing up to the same tape set in the same tape library as the Full backup! This happens regardless of whether the tape media is labelled as the associated backup set, or as Scratch media.
I am new to Backup Exec, however what we're trying to do is very basic - we are backing up static data on another server, direct to tape. Full backups run on Fridays, and incrementals Monday to Thursday.
