Auditor freindly report

From a risk perspective angle, we want some management freindly assurance that our exchange servers are being succesfully backed up. The IT department inform us they use backup exec 2012 for backups. What sort of management/audit freindly reports will give us assurance in this area? Can I also tap into your backup expertese, if you were in a management role and wanted assurance that all your servers were being backed up, what kind of reports and areas would you focus on?
